Question by css: Is it necessary to buy Rental Car Insurance even though i have my car insurance policy with me?
I have a car and have taken Auto insurance for it.
Now my question is if i take a rental car, then my auto insurance policy for my car covers it or i need to take separate insurance for the rental car? When i took the auto insurance policy, they have taken my car details and its present in the insurance card also.
If i need to take insurance for rental car, what type of insurance do i need to take excluding my auto insurance policy coverage that applies to all cars?
Also if i am driving someone else car, will my insurance cover if there is any accident i have made?

Best answer:

Answer by daddyporky@verizon.net
yes by all means buy the insurance… they can sue you.. that insurance covers you for collision and libality… the extra price is worth it .. if you damage that car or someone lets say scratches it or puts a dent in the door you are liable…. when you rented the car with all that paper work you AGREED TO PAY FOR DAMAGES.. ok buy it..

Question by Someone: Property insurance ?
If someone owns your property but you own the house on it, can they get insurance on the property without having to own the house?

Best answer:

Answer by financing_loans
Your question doesnt make sense.

If somebody owns the property, but you own the house. This would have to apply your property is a mobile home, on somebody elses property. If this is the case, you own personal property on the land, you own real property on top of the land.

To make it simple, you have a car and you drive and park it on my property. I let your car sit there for as long as I want for a fee. Same as going to a local parking lot. The property is mine, the 6 dollars that you just spent there is what I charge. What I decide to do with insurance on the property is none of your business. You just park there. If that is the case, thats the case.

Now if you home is real property. Meaning you have the note to the property (meaning you own the home and land). Only lien holders can put insurance on the property, this is to protect them from loss. You pay for it and its part of your agreement.

If you have a mobile home (car in my example) and you are on somebody elses property. If that car leaves or something happens with that car while its there. They have every right to ensure your car against loss.

I would have given a better answer but you didnt really explain what you meant.

What do you think? Answer below!

We did a voluntary repo/surrender of our RV. We offered to deliver it to a place of the Bank’s choice, but were told they would send someone to get it. That was 2 weeks ago. The insurance on the RV (quite costly to us) is paid till July of 2010. We would like to cancel it and get a refund of the premium. At what point should we cancel the insurance? I want to wait till it’s gone (it’s stored on our property), but my husband wants to cancel it now.

I am interested in a contract therapy job but they require me to carry liability insurance and file my own taxes. Have you ever had to do this? Is it a complete pain in the butt or is it worth it to do them since the job pays very well? Where do I find personal liability insurance and how much would it cost? And how do I pay my own taxes? Should I get a CPA? How much does that cost? I live in Florida.
Oh and I already have another job but this is just for extra money so not worried about them not paying benefits.

Answer by Bobbie
Consulting with an experienced professional about your self employed business would probably be a very smart thing to do.
All of your gross income from all sources of worldwide income will be reported on your correctly completed 1040 federal income tax return.
In general, taxpayers may deduct the ordinary and necessary expenses for conducting a trade or business. An ordinary expense is an expense that is common and accepted in the taxpayer’s trade or business. A necessary expense is one that is appropriate for the business. Generally, an activity qualifies as a business if it is carried on with the reasonable expectation of earning a profit.
The independent contractor self employment income will be reported on the schedule C of the 1040 tax form and you will be responsible for the 15.3% of the social security and medicare tax on your net profit from the business operation you also may need to make some quarterly estimated tax payments for the tax year 2010. The last payment would be January 18 2011.
You would have to be sure that you handle your business deductions correctly for your business operation.
For instructions and forms go to the IRS.gov website and use the search box for publication 334 a very good place to start with examples.
Publication 463 Travel, Entertainment, Gift, and Car Expenses
Use the search box at the IRS.gov website for Small Business and Self-Employed Tax Center
#4 Good records will help you ensure successful operation of your new business. You may choose any record keeping system suited to your business that clearly shows your income and expenses. Except in a few cases, the law does not require any special kind of records. However, the business you are in affects the type of records you need to keep for federal tax purposes.
#7 Visit the Business section of the IRS gov website for resources to assist entrepreneurs with starting and operating a new business. Go to the IRS gov website and use the search box for the below referenced material
