There was a little smoke damage. If you wait 2 years to file a claim, is that possible?? If an apartment burned down, and the fire was not your fault, are you entitled to have everything replaced by insurance? Even though you don’t have renter’s insurance? The fire was caused by a malfunctioned electric stove. So isn’t the person or company who rented the apartment in total fault? Thanks for any help! the rental excludes 2 small rooms at one end of the house which i reserve for my own use. is a regular home insurance policy good enough? What’s the proper journal entry if equipment is destroyed in a fire and you collect insurance on it?If I had equipment that was worth 158,100 originally, had depreciated 120,000.. then after it was destroyed in a fire the insurance co paied 25,000. what’s the journal entry to discard the asset? Could I just put the lost value to equipment expense? does anyone else have any opinions? thanks! also what’s P & L? Actually, it’s not me, but a friend who has a business near me. A few months ago there was a fire at his business, total loss. Now he’s going bankrupt and is fighting to get his insurance fire claim. What can he do to get help?! My fire insurance policy is for 50,000; however the damage is in excess of 85,000 where can i get a restaurant fire insurance quote? my mother is going to default on her mortgage payment, to eventually go into foreclosure, because of bad loan. should she pay the monthly fire insurance, until we leave (3 to 6 mnths maybe)? what are the consequences of not paying, other than a fire? Are insurance proceeds rec’d for fire damage to a construction project includable in income or should they offset the capital account? The project was only partially damaged. I’d like to know if the proceeds should be taken directly to the capital asset account or if the capital re-work should be expensed with the insurance proceeds offsetting the expense account? If the fire burned a shed in my backyard which the insurance company estimated to be valued at $1800, do I have to rebuild the shed or can I go without the shed and keep the $1800? |
